Week 6
8th November 2017
Haven’t done much this week due to advice from Gary and trying to get my Piriformis (Bum) better Did a light 1.6K walk on the treadmill in preparation for seeing coach tomorrow.
9th November 2017
Treatment day! First thing as a 3.8K walk on the treadmill. How boring was that? (Note to one’s self-next time we replace the treadmill at Runnersworld Eastcote get a treadmill with a Multimedia function on).
The second session involved a bit of treatment which is never pleasant and a 1.9k walk/run on the treadmill pulling my style or lack of apart. The injury did feel ok though. Also got a new schedule for the next seven days to see how this old body can handle it.
10th November 2017
Went for an early morning Swim for 30 minutes which is my least favorite activity. I have to be careful how I put this but it almost felt a small bit easier than last time (Don’t tell Coach or I might get more ?!!)
12th November 2017
Running interval session outside. I had forgotten how to put on appropriate layers on when running outside and it took several attempts to find and put on the appropriate gear. Also, it was bitter outside and although the sun was out the wind was trying to chill me to the bone. In spite of all this, I was still glad to be outside again and running. We did 6 x 5 minutes, 1 Minute recovery between reps and 5 mins warm up and down. I went really well and a Nice warm bath followed.
Seems the week eventually went ok and the body has improved slightly and I can still move.
What fun will next week bring?
