Phil’s Fitness Diary week 12. Christmas is comming

Week 12

This was always going to be a challenging week the week before Christmas. Having to go to a couple of meetings in London looking at Autumn/Winter 2018 products and socializing with the other stores. Tuff job but someone has to do it.

18th December 2017

A steady 30 minute run on the treadmill in the shop after work whilst waiting for a friend to meet me for a Christmas drink. Started the Re-hydration at the Ascot, then a sprint section to the 282 bus stop, and then the Case. (Don’t tell Coach ?)

20th December 2017

No training today as went to town to see Asics and Saucony products.

23rd December 2017

Running 10 miles today. Probably not the best preparation due to the amount of socialising so I started from the Eastcote store, and went around South Harrow, Rayners Lane, North Harrow, Pinner, Northwood Hills and back to the shop. Found a Party hat on the floor after 2 miles so wore that for the rest of the run, getting some very strange looks and one person even wished me a happy birthday. Perhaps it did look like a party hat. Eventually got back to the shop and felt ok. We had a full house with Jim, Gary, Leah and 2 Sharon’s there to greet me. Gary started analysing my run on MyTomTom sports and actually said he couldn’t really see too much wrong with it. I took that as a compliment (closest I’ve been to one ?). Wouldn’t leave the shop before I had a Large cup of tea. Got home, had a shower and then used the dreaded Compex machine on my calf and quad muscles.

Felt fine for the rest of the day which shows that I must be getting better at coping with the extra workload.

24th December 2017

Christmas preparation. Worked for a few hours and then went to the Ascot for a bit of Christmas Cheer.

Happy Christmas everyone. Try and keep training ?
