Week 15
10th January 2018
Went for a swim in the morning as my Achilles and hamstring were playing up because of the long run. They didn’t hurt immediately but felt very uncomfortable on Monday morning. It was making my calf muscles feel tight and like they were ready to go into spasm.
11th January 2018
Gym Triathlon time which involved a 20 minutes warm-up cycle with the wattage being greater than 100 and then a 20 minute on the concept 2 rowing machine with pace averaging 2:56 per 500 meters. Treadmill run for 20 minutes keeping the Heart rate between 120-140 which felt ok but still very wary of my legs.
14th January 2018
I was supposed to do a long run today but decided against it due to the fragile state of my legs so I thought I would do my version of a gym triathlon which comprised of the following
20 minutes static cycle watts
20 minutes concept 2 Rowing and should have been a 5K Treadmill run with Heart Rate < 140.
This didn’t happen because my left calf kicked off after 90 seconds and although didn’t actually go experience told me to stop immediately.
Left the gym feeling pretty pissed off and just thought “here we go again”. Let’s see what happens next week. ☹
