Phil’s Fitness Diary week 16 Down but not out

Week 16

15th  – 21st January 2018

Have not done any training this week and have felt very despondent. My legs seem to be giving me hell and different parts of the body are falling off. Made an appointment with Sharon Dooley and this helped but didn’t give the magical cure I wanted. Why I thought it would is a bit strange because I would normally advise others to be patient and do what the therapist suggests but as the saying goes “Do as I say not what I do 😊 )

I felt like all the old problems were coming back and I get to a certain level of fitness and then break down again. Also at my age why bother. Let the youngsters have a go !! Came into the shop on Thursday and had a good chat with Gary Telfer. He read the riot act to me and told me that this shows the limit to what I am able to do so far. He then went through both calf muscles, Achilles and hamstrings and in my opinion, 10 rounds with Mike Tyson is easier.😊 Reluctantly I have to admit it did help quite a lot. Had my feet taped up and I also need new footwear so if anyone can recommend a good shop.😊

Also, part of the Riot act was to make an appointment with the GP to ensure I am ok with upping the intensity of the training and not affect my diabetes and other ailments.

Also, make a concerted effort regarding my weight start weighing myself regularly,

And make an appointment with a specialist dietician to advise and diet regarding heavy training whilst keeping diabetes under control.

So in all a pants week but let’s hope this is the Low that should be expected and we are back on the rise again. 😊
